Bungay & Waveney Valley Golf Course
Par: 69
Yardage: 6,055 yards (white tees)
Slope Rating: 124
Course Rating: 69.60
Designed by the 5 times Open Champion James Braid and opened for play in 1889, the course plays well all year round, coming to its fore in the winter months. At 6,055 yards the course is not overly long but with five par 4s of over 400 yards and only one par 5, the par of 69 is a challenge attested by the professional course record of 64. Characterised by well drained fairways, small undulating greens, often sloping back to front, and beautiful views of the Waveney Valley it is well named the “Hidden Jewel of Suffolk”.
NCG Says…
The great James Braid worked on his magic on the impressive course at Bungay & Waveney Valley. This charming boasts plenty of gorse and a mixture of pine and birch trees, while the free-draining terrain means the course is often in play all year round.
