Situated alongside the A66 with easy access East & West, Appleby Golf Club can only be described as an ‘Inland Links’ course, The Open Champion, Willie Fernie used the contours of the land and the heather and bracken features to create our course to great effect. Sitting on a bedrock of Sandstone, Appleby is free draining so is playable all year round, which is a rare thing in Cumbria! The greens are renowned for offering the best throughout the year.

A fixture in our Fun Top 100, Appleby is so natural and minimalistic that you almost can’t see it from the road. The real defences here come with the contours of the land and the ever-present breeze up on Brackenber Moor. The turf is a delight to hit from.
