  • Masters golf shoes: summary

Which golf shoes were worn amongst the top players at The Masters? Golf tops and vests often get the attention of those watching. The poor golf shoe can often go unnoticed. Yet, it is this item that offers crucial support during the week.

As well as the support provided as the player generates speed and force they also need to carry them in comfort for the miles the golfer has to walk. This is especially arduous at Augusta National where Steve Carroll, NCG’s man on the ground this year, explained so well in his article – Feel the burn! How tough a walk is Augusta National?

So, which shoes were the Top 5 players wearing round to round?

Player names might have come and gone from the Top 5 each day but that was not the same for shoe brands.

Adidas, Nike and FootJoy were consistent as shoes of choice for the Top 5 golfers.

Top 5 Masters Golf Shoes

1) Scottie Scheffler – Nike Air Zoom TW 20

spiked golf shoes

There is lots of talk currently about whether we are entering an era of Scheffler dominance similar to that of Tiger Woods. As such, Scottie’s choice of Nike Masters golf shoes appropriately contains the word Zoom and Tiger Woods!

However, if you wished to try them out yourself it is probably more likely that Scottie would fail to get up and down for par than find somewhere that sells them. If you are a size 8 and like them in black then hurry and check out the PGA Tour Superstore. If you prefer white then Kicks Crew have some options.

2) Ludwig Aberg – Adidas ZG23

If you wish to try out Ludwig Aberg’s choice of shoe, the Adidas ZG23 spiked golf shoes, there are more buying options available. As well as Amazon, they are available at Clubhouse Golf in 3 colour choices and are 38% off. If you like them with a dash of lemon and are a size 7 then there is a bargain to be had at Scottsdale Golf.

3) Tommy Fleetwood – Nike TW 13

Tommy had a great week at Augusta and finished it off with a 69 on Sunday, the second-lowest round of the day.

If you are a fan of the Nike TW 13 spiked golf shoes then you can still get the limited edition version in Augusta green, yellow and white from Nike.com.

3) Collin Morikawa – Adidas ZG23

adidas

Collin Morikawa had been somewhat under the radar during the week but made his move on Saturday after a superb round of 69.

Just like Luke Aberg, Collin’s choice are the Adidas ZG23 spiked golf shoes. It is the only shoe to appear more than once in the Top 5 finishing players.

Again, they are available from Amazon and Clubhouse Golf in 3 colour choices at 38% off. If you like them with a dash of lemon and are a size 7 then there is a bargain to be had at Scottsdale Golf.

Check out what else is in Collin Morikawa’s bag.

3) Max Homa – FootJoy Premiere Series – Field

footjoy

FootJoy make an appearance in the top 5 courtesy of Max Homa. Whilst the other 4 shoes are more sporty in appearance these are the more classical in look. The Field model forms part of the FootJoy Premiere Series. They are also a spiked golf shoe.

They are readily available direct from FootJoy UK and FootJoy US.
