The Algarve region
The eastern Algarve is semi-rural, with many local restaurants and cafes. The weather is generally fine, hot in summer months and cool (but not really cold) in winter. Local beaches are just splendid, clean without being too busy. Several 18-hole golf courses are nearby.



Tavira area
Luz de Tavira is 5 minutes by car from the waterfront at Santa Luzia. Access is gained from this point to the famous Tavira Island beach. Tavira town is less than 10 minutes away by car. Restaurants, cafes, bars and supermarkets are all nearby. There is a pharmacy, doctor and dentist in Luz, as well as a large church, local shops etc.
