yes! Groove Tube True 3-D overhead alignment uses an elevated sightline window and a heads up centering line to verify correct set-up position SRP: £185 www.yesgolf.co.uk 0845 601 5778 LG verdict: This certainly wins the award for the most bizarre looking putter! It holes out brilliantly from 10 feet and under, but since it sounds and feels hard coming off the face, I struggled to gain feel for long putts. I like the elevated sightline, giving me confidence that the putter is at the right angle. |

RIFE Hybrid 2 Bar Tour Mallet Precisely spaced milled grooves provide an instant forward roll to create the truest “no skid” roll in golf no matter where you hit the ball on the putter face SRP: £139.99 www.rifeputters.co.uk 01204 494 080 LG verdict: This putter provides extraordinary feel – incredibly soft, and yet very solid at the same time. I love the two bars for lining up short putts. It’s very solid and stable at address, with a surprisingly small head. I was impressed by its ability to repeatedly to hole out from four to six feet. |

PING Karsten Series CRAZ-E iWi For personal customisation, if you want mass towards the heel or toe to match your stroke – in all, there are nine weight combinations when you choose the optional weight kit SRP: £140 www.pinggolf.com 01427 615 405 LG verdict: This is a beautifully balanced putter and it remains absolutely solid at address, giving you the utmost confidence. The alignment lines are excellent. I like the idea of interchangeable weights, but don’t think I’d ever ‘mess’ once I’d set it up. I love the solid, yet soft feel off the face. |

callaway White Hot XG Marxman Blade Elastomer core material is soft for enhanced feel and highly resilient to get the ball rolling. Thin outer striking surface with urethane is firmer for fine-tuned responsiveness. Hi-Def Alignment System means more putts start on the intended target line. SRP: £149 www.callawaygolf.com 0208 391 0100 LG verdict: This isn’t pretty, but it combines the best elements of a blade/mallet. I like blade putters, but I like the long alignment lines of mallets, which really do help to line putts up precisely. This utilises both, so I can’t fault it for performance. Great roll and lovely soft feel. |

WILSON STAFF Luxe This classic shaped putter features a rounded heel-toe weighting and a TPU urethane insert for a softer feel SRP: £59.95 www.wilsonstaff.com 01294 316 270 LG verdict: I love the grip – soft and squidgy – and the putter sits solidly behind the ball, without moving at address. The alignment lines are useful, but visually don’t make you think you are hitting out of the centre. Soft feel when hit from dead centre, but firm otherwise. I wasn’t consistently good with it.td> | ![]() |

Taylormade Rossa Lambeau Softer insert with 14 grooves positioned closer together promotes better touch and more efficient spin for a smoother roll SRP: £89 www.taylormadegolf.com 00800 8624 4653 LG verdict: What a lovely looking putter! Neat, simple, classic, no gimmicks. It feels very heavy in the head, which I like, but the ball comes off the face firmer than I like so I found it harder to judge feel for distance. I loved it for short putts – solid, accurate and reliable. |

Snake Eyes Tour Platinum 7802 A.S.P face milled-pattern which minimises backspin on the ball for a more stable roll upon impact Static Frequency Filter Shaft design filters out static noise leaving only the vibrations that provide feedback to the putter sweet spot SRP: £129 www.snakeeyescustom.com 01480 308 800 LG verdict: Aesthetically, the head is a little too chunky for me – but that’s the only negative. It’s a fabulous putter. I love the grip – very tactile. It feels very solid at address, like it’s never going to move offline. I loved it from every distance instantly. Great soft feel and roll – great putter. |

Nike OZ 1 High Visibility Polymer Insert helps to strike the ball with confidence, while the soft polymer keeps the ball in contact longer to promote a true roll and a great feel SRP: £75 www.nikegolfeurope.com 0800 056 1640 LG verdict: I normally have strong likes or dislikes towards a putter but, with this, I didn’t. I couldn’t find anything wrong with it, but it didn’t excite me either. It feels solid, looks neat, and I found it consistently good for long putts. Not quite as confidence-inspiring as some for short putts. |
