TOP DRILLS: Keep the shoulders rocking

Why the shoulders should make the first move

Always at the stomach

This is a great drill to avoid too much wrist movement in your putting stroke. Place a tee peg in the end of the putter and try and keep that pointing at your stomach throughout the stroke. The left shoulder should always start the takeaway.

Keep the triangle

The hands should never dictate what the putter does. There have been some superb wristy putters but the soundest way to hone a repeatable stroke is to maintain a consistent triangle between the shoulders and arms, with the lifelines on the hands opposing each other.
