Every's breezeblock putter
PGA Tour player Matt Every used a very distinctive putter to get into contention at the Sony Open at the weekend. Here's more information...
Through three rounds of the Sony Open in Hawaii last week, PGA Tour pro Matt Every had totalled just 82 putts and - pardon the pun! - put himself into a share of the 54-hole lead with Jeff Maggert.
His weapon of choice raised more than a few eyebrows, though - it resembled a shoebox on a stick.
I've done a bit of research and the putter is called a Black Hawk and manufactured by an independent clubmaker called David Kargetta, operating under the name Orion.
Apparently there is a chance the putter will become readily available later in the year, but currently only a few select pro shops in Florida stock the club.
It's a long way to travel, but if you're struggling on the greens it might be worth the investment.
I've just booked my ticket...
