Rusper
Dorking, Surrey
An exacting parkland on the Surrey-Sussex border
Situated on the Surrey-West Sussex border and only a short drive from the A24, Rusper is a tree-lined parkland course lined with fairway trees and with water features dotted about.
It measures 6,724 yards off the yellow tees, making it one of the longer courses in the area – so make sure you bring a good driving day with you as you will need it.
This course isn’t just about the long game though, with a variety of holes, you will almost certainly use every club in the bag here. As the course threads it way through the woodland, accuracy is crucial off the tee.
After a gentle start the holes wind through picturesque scenery, mature woodland and natural water hazards.
Rusper enjoys an informal, friendly and relaxed atmosphere with a warm welcome always waiting in the clubhouse.
Perhaps the most intimidating hole is the 14th. Measuring at 401 yards, this hole dog-legs to the right, with a lake going down the left-hand side.
This means you have to make sure your tee shot is accurate, or this hole could be a potential card wrecker. Another hole you should look forward to is the par-5 5th, a 522-yard par 5. If you can get a good drive off the tee, then a birdie becomes a possibility here.
With weekday green fees starting from as little as £15 in 2012, this is a fantastic course to come and visit as visitors are made to feel very welcome.
Rusper enjoys an informal, friendly and relaxed atmosphere with a warm welcome always waiting in the clubhouse.
