Powerbilt
Air Force One Air Foil driver
THIS new driver from Powerbilt is one of the most revolutionary ever created - the head is filled with pressurised nitrogen gas.
It may sound strange but the technology is very clever and allows the club's engineers to create the thinnest face of any driver on the market and therefore generate maximum ball speed. The face is only 2.6mm (almost half a millimetre thinner than conventional drivers) and would almost certainly break with normal face supports, but the gas fills the head and does that job.
This driver also features a traditionally shaped head and specific weighting to offer high levels of MOI and a high, long launch. The Air Foil is also available in a tour version, which features a stronger shaft, a smaller, more workable head, and a slightly thicker face (2.8mm) that provides more stability for the faster swing speeds better players generate.
And before you question whether this technology will be allowed in your monthly medal, it will, because both the R&A and USGA have approved the club for tournament use.
Don't expect to see anyone else using this impressive technique, though, because Powerbilt have a strong patent.

Geox
Net range
THE Italians are known for their sense of style and now they can claim to be at the cutting edge of technology when it comes to golf shoes. Having conquered the shoe market in Italy and being ranked as the leading brand, Geox have now turned their attentions to golf.
Described as the shoe that breathes, Geox used the London Golf Show to launch their Net range. These shoes cleverly allow perspiration to escape, yet water cannot penetrate through the sole.
This is achieved by three elements: a waterproof, breathing membrane that is applied along the entire sole; a supporting net in techno material that protects the membrane and prevents water, mud and other external elements from entering the shoe; and an external polyurethane and rubber shock absorber frame.
This is combined with finest full-grain, water-repellent, durable and soft leather uppers that come in a large range of styles. Geox claim that this is not only the most comfortable shoe on the market, but also one of the most hygienic, providing the ultimate environment for your feet.

FootJoy
Contour Series
SHOE specialists FootJoy have released an updated version of their popular Contour Series model.
This shoe has earned a reputation for extreme comfort, fit and durability but has lacked contemporary styling.
The 2010 version, as you can see, does not have the same problem with a high-quality, full grain leather upper, new rubber outsole designed to provide extra comfort, and the impressive BOA Lacing system.
This technology allows you to tighten the laces by simply twisting a reel on the heel of the shoe for the ultimate fit and comfort throughout the round.
Couple this with new modern styling and an array of colour options, and you have a brilliant all-round shoe.

Penfold
Dual iD balls
PENFOLD'S exciting new ball boasts tradition and modern technology - and is also helpful to the environment.
The Dual iD is a four-piece, premium ball that offers high levels of spin and feel with iron shots, while providing both carry and roll with the longer clubs.
But perhaps most interestingly, each ball is hand-wrapped to offer not only a nostalgic step back in time but also to cut down on the amount of packaging.
And to make it even more eco-friendly, the wrappers are made from potato starch, and are therefore fully degradable, while the box is made from recyclable materials, which can be re-used.
Performance-wise, the balls feel soft off the face with shorter clubs and offer good spin, but also carry a long way and roll nicely, too.
They are right up there with the best balls on the market in terms of how they feel and perform, but the wrapping sets them apart from any other - although it is very hard to make yourself hit one and risk losing it.

Ecco
Street
WELCOME to the golf shoe that does the job at the driving range, on the course and down at the pub. Like all of Ecco's products they are ridiculously comfortable and stylish and, thanks to the efforts of Fred Couples at the Masters, these were the most talked-about golf shoes in April.
Full-grain leather uppers sit upon a new, low-profile, direct-injected PU midsole while pre-moulded traction bars provide enhanced grip. And it all works a treat.
These might not look like your conventional golf shoe but, trust us, your feet will be the least of your worries at the end of 36 holes and, better still, there'll be no need to change your shoes, behind the captain's back, in the car park.
Available in both concrete/white/cactus and licorice/coffee/ fanta options.

Nicklaus Golf
Polarity HP irons
THE latest irons to bear the Golden Bear's name are designed to offer ultimate forgiveness and playability.
They feature a hybrid profile and polar weighting system, which promotes a high launch and a long flight. They have hybrids in place of the longest irons, and six forgiving irons in the remaining positions.
This weighting system also increases moment of inertia (MOI, resistance to twisting) to push forgiveness to the maximum.
