Pula | NCG Top 100s: European Golf Resorts
Pula is one of the most historic resorts on the NCG Top 100 European Golf Resorts, but not due to its golfing heritage. The manor house, which now plays host to the Pula Golf Resort Hotel and the country club facilities, was first built in 1581. Add a championship level golf course and a spa into the mix, and Pula has quickly become one of the best resorts in the Balearic Islands.
The manor house overlooks part of the golf course, and provides a stunning setting for the hotel. The Pula Golf Resort Hotel offers up a range of accommodation, from smaller rooms to suites, and even a range of apartments in the annex building of the resort. There is something for all groups travelling to Mallorca for their holiday.
The golf course is stunning, with a Spanish legend having played a hand in the facility. Two-time Masters Champion Jose Maria Olazabal redesigned the course in the mid-2000s, bringing the venue up to standard so it could satisfy the demands of both professional and international golf. There is also the Pula Golf Academy, which offers lessons and tuition to golfers from all walks of life.
The Spa at Pula is an essential part of the resort these days, with some accommodation packages coming with unlimited time in the spa and on the golf course. Treatments, massages and much more are available in the Spa at Pula, which incorporates several types of shower and sauna into its facility.

Pula Overview | NCG Top 100s: European Golf Resorts
The Golf Course
The golf course at Pula was originally founded in 1995, but a decade later it received a major redesign. Two-time Masters Champion Jose Maria Olazabal was the man brought in to do so, with the course reopening in 2006.
It has been transformed into a large and neat golf course, and is a Par-72 track measuring more than 6,900 yards from the back tees. Olazabal’s influence on the golf course is still seen to this day, and the changes he made truly improved the golf course.
Water doesn’t come into play into the 5th hole, but from that point, it feels like it never quite goes away. The 8th is a 220-yard par-3 with a lake to the left of the green, with the same lake then coming into play on the side of the 9th fairway.
Unlike most courses, Pula finishes with a par-3. Measuring more than 195 yards from the tips, it is a brute of a finishing hole. Bunkers either side of the green will catch an errant shot. Be happy to finish with a par.
Pula Golf Academy & Fitting Centre
Along with the championship golf course, Pula is also the home to a Golf Academy and Fitting Centre. The Golf Academy features a state of the art driving range and short game area for golfers to hone their abilities.
Along with the technology, there is a team of qualified PGA professionals on hand to help coach golfers of all ages and abilities. From individual lessons to group clinics, there is coaching for all at the Pula Golf Academy.
The Fitting Centre by Callaway makes state-of-the-art golf clubs available to customers and guests. The most innovative techniques are used to be able to provide clubs tailored to the swing and level of play of every golfer.
