Rory McIlroy WITB 2019. Rory McIlroy has made a series of successful equipment changes in 2019. The Northern Irishman has already made changes to his driver, fairway woods, wedges and most importantly it looks like he may have finally settled on a putter.
He has been rewarded with the changes he has made a tremendous start to the 2019 season and most recently recorded his first victory in over a year at The Players Championship.
We take a look inside his winning bag.
What’s in McIlroy’s bag?
McIlroy used the TaylorMade M3 driver and fairway woods throughout 2018 but has upgraded to the company’s new M5 model in his driver and 5-wood. He does however choose to carry a 3-wood in the companies M6 model.
The Northern Irishman is using the same iron set up that he was using towards the end of 2018 and opts to mix it up.
He currently plays TaylorMade P750 Tour Proto (3 & 4-iron) and plays the TaylorMade P730 irons from his 5 to his 9-iron and they are stamped with ‘Rors Proto’.
This week McIlroy he has opted to change it up and put four wedges in the bag. One being a 48° TaylorMade Milled Grind and his 52°, 56° and 60° being TaylorMade Hi-Toe wedges.
We all know about McIlroy’s putting woes in recent years. He has failed to settle on the greens but it looks like the Northern Irishman may have hit the jackpot with his latest change.
He added the new TaylorMade Spider X Copper into his bag at the start of the year and has seen a slight increase to his putting stats on the PGA Tour.
McIlroy has changed his ball for 2019, switching from the TaylorMade TP5x to the TP5.
