About Roger Anderson
Rather than being a succession of facts and figures, the book is an attempt to chronicle the club’s history through narrative, telling the stories behind the events and people. Contributors include Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy, Darren Clarke, Padraig Harrington, Paul McGinley, Tom Watson, Gary Player, Peter Alliss, Rich Beem, Maureen Madill and Stephanie Meadow. The book will be available through the Royal Portrush website and pro shop, with pre-orders taken from Open week onwards.
Roger has written three other books, including the autobiography of former Manchester United goalkeeper and hero of the Munich Air Crash, Harry Gregg; a ghost-written autobiography of former footballer Jackie Fullerton; and The Fighting Irish, a book chronicling Irish and Irish-American professional boxing from the bare-knuckle era to modern times. Roger is a former British Weekly Sports Writer of the Year, Northern Ireland Sports Journalist of the Year, and was a Sports Producer with BBC Northern Ireland for 10 years. He is a member of Castlerock.
