Thinking of heading to Royal Portrush? NCG has all the details of how to get tickets for the Open

Royal Portrush is home to the 148th Open this July, and the world’s best players will all be in attendance – but the question for spectators is, how do you get tickets?

The venue has not held an Open Championship since 1951 and the return has meant the demand to be there has been phenomenal.

How do you get tickets for Open?

Getting a ticket for the Masters is one of life’s great struggles, and this year’s Open hasn’t been too easy either.

Soon after the conclusion of last year’s event at Carnoustie, general sale tickets for the championship days sold out.

There was, and still is, hope for those thinking of heading out to Northern Ireland, however.

There was a second release of tickets that went on sale earlier this year and again the standard championship days sold out.

But there are still a couple of ticket options available for championship days and for practice days.

If you fancy getting up close to the pros on a practice day then you can select that option, but, if you want a more luxurious experience, you can opt for a hospitality package for the Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday of tournament week.

Come on, how do you get tickets for the Open?

All tickets are sold through the Open’s official website and this is the only place you can purchase tickets.

For those of us not lucky enough to be heading to Royal Portrush, we have you covered. Keep up to date with all the action on our dedicated Open microsite or on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
