Zurich Classic of New Orleans betting tips: Top tips

With an eye-catching pair like Adam Scott and Jason Day in the line up, it’s no surprise to see punters piling into the duo. It is more of an eye-opener, though, to see Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel at 25/1 with bet365.

The latter’s form may have been very hit and miss but that can’t be said for Oosthuizen, who won his native South African Open and has followed up with strong showings at the Valspar Championship (tied 2nd) and the WGC-Match Play.

Solid at the Masters until a final round 76, he’s in decent touch and, despite a host of missed cuts, Schwartzel can still look back on a decent week at the Puerto Rico Open.

This twosome combined to finish third a year ago and, with Louis there to hold the reins, they could improve on that this time.

Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown also feel a big price (33/1) given the way they have combined in this tournament over the past couple of years.

The pair lost a playoff in 2017 and were in front with 18 to play last year only to inexplicably card a 77 as they tumbled to tied 15th.

Kisner couldn’t arrive in better shape this time, having won the WGC-Match Play, while Brown has decent finishes at the Farmers Insurance Open, Puerto Rico Open and, most recently, at the Texas Open.

For the short priced backers, the two Patricks – Reed and Cantlay – have improved each time they have played at TPC Louisiana.

Tied 7th last year, Cantlay reached the podium at Harbour Town last week after such a strong showing in the Masters and Reed’s defence of the Green Jacket was respectable if not electrifying. They will have plenty of supporters at 12/1.

In comparison, I think the combination of Adam Hadwin and Aaron Baddeley (45/1) are flying slightly under the radar.

Hadwin has three top 10s and four top 25s this season, his best coming when tied 2nd at the Desert Classic.

Baddeley, meanwhile, has been equally consistent with three top 10s and five top 25s during the PGA Tour campaign. If this new duo can gel over this eccentric format, they could get into the frame ahead of some much heavier fancied combinations.
