Three new venues to take on Women’s Open hosting duties
The R&A have announced the AIG Women’s Open venues until 2025.
Women’s golf’s only major not held on American soil was due to be hosted at Royal Porthcawl in Wales in 2021, but this has now been pushed back to 2025 with Carnoustie – an eight-time Open venue and the 2011 Women’s Open venue – taking its place.
The Women’s Open will then go to Muirfield – a 16-time Open host – and Walton Heath – a former Ryder Cup venue – for the first time in 2022 and 2023 before a third visit to St Andrews in 2024.
