Wilson Dynapwr: Everything you need to know!

What’s new? How much does it cost? And how does it perform? Hannah Holden brings you the low down on the new Wilson Dynapwr range

Wilson are back for 2023 with the replacement to their popular D9 range. The new Dynapwr line includes two drivers, a fairway wood, a hybrid, and a set of game improvement irons.

Wilson Dynapwr: Driver Technology

Added adjustability is one of the big changes from the D9 to the Dynapwr. Previously the club heads were fixed. The new adjustable hosel allows for a lot more fine-tuning.

Artificial intelligence is everywhere in golf clubs this season. Wilson used it to analyse numerous club head designs and test many different ideas.

One being the PKR2 Technology which provides a dynamic face thickness optimised to give fast ball speeds and optimised forgiveness on off-centre hits.

This is aimed at a better player who wants to be able to work the golf ball off the tee.

The lightweight carbon panels on the crown and sole as well as a 12-gram weight, moves the centre of gravity low and forward to create a lower spinning driver head.

The Dynapwr Carbon is designed to have a neutral-to-fade bias ball flight.

The Dynapwr model is for the players looking for more distance and to maximise distance.

The titanium clubhead has a 16-gram rear weight to help boost MOI and produce a higher launch angle.

The Dynapwr is designed to have a neutral-to-draw bias ball flight.

Fairway Wood

The new Dynapwr fairway wood has a high MOI head design but with a tour-inspired shape for full confidence off the tee and deck.

It features a 12-gram rear weight that helps create a high launch angle and ball trajectory.

Hybrid

The Dynapowr Hybrid features variable face thickness and internal weighting to position the Centre of Gravity low and back to produce a more forgiving, easy-to-launch ball flight.

The tour-inspired flatter profile is also incorporated for confidence at setup.

Irons

These are engineered for mid-handicap golfers but designed to appeal aesthetically so lower handicap players who want more distance and forgiveness could also game this iron.

Each section of the club face features variable thickness technology to make more of the club face quick especially the centre to toe area where most golfers’ shots are hit.

Again Wilson used Artificial Intelligence to their advantage here. Thousands of clubhead data variations and aesthetics were analysed to produce the most effective and pleasing shape possible. The resulting design then incorporated the pioneering Wilson Power Hole 3.0 technology to deliver maximum ball speed across the face of each club.
