What is the Ryder Cup?

The Ryder Cup is a biennial team competition between Team Europe and Team USA. Each team consists of 12 players a captain and a handful of vice captains.

The competition was formed in 1927 by Samuel Ryder and takes place every two years, it alternates between the United States and European venues.

Where is the 2025 Ryder Cup?

Bethpage State Park in New York State will host the 2025 Ryder Cup on its infamous Black Course. It won’t be the first time that the venue has hosted a major event, as it has staged two previous U.S. Opens 2002 and 2009, won by Tiger Woods and Lucas Glover.

The Black Course has also hosted two FedEx Cup play-offs, the Northern Trust Open, in 2012 and 2016, won by Nick Watney and Patrick Reed.

Bethpage also hosted the 2019 PGA Championship where Brooks Koepka was victorious. It was the third major that the course had hosted.

After hosting the 2025 Ryder Cup, the Black Course will host the 2027 Northern Trust Open FedEx Cup play-off event for the third and fourth times.

In 2002 when the Black Course at Bethpage hosted the U.S. Open it was the first public course to host the tournament.

Bethpage Black Course was the scene of Tiger Woods’ ninth Major victory, where he defeated Phil Mickleson by three strokes.

When is the 2025 Ryder Cup?

The exact dates for the 2025 Ryder Cup will be announced shortly, however, it will be held in September 2025.
