What’s in Zach Johnson’s Open-winning bag
Zach Johnson relied on a full bag of Titleist clubs and the new Pro V1x ball as he became the 2015 Open Champion at St Andrews.
The 39-year-old birdied the 18th to reach -15 then birdied the first and second play-off holes to edge out Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman.

This was Johnson’s second Major Championship of his career, after winning The Masters in 2007.
Johnson trusted his 913D2 driver, 913Fd and 913F fairway metals, a 712U utility iron, AP1 and AP2 irons, Vokey Design pitching and sand wedges, as well as a Vokey Design prototype lob wedge.

This isn’t going to define me or my career, at least I hope it doesn’t. It’s not my legacy" “I said it back in 2007; I mean, I feel like god gave me the ability to play a game,” Johnson said.
“I try to take it very seriously. I realise it’s just a game. I’m just a guy from Iowa that has been blessed with a talent, and this game provides great opportunity.
“I think if you mentally look at it that way, it kind of takes the pressure off. I don’t want to make it any bigger than what it should be.
– Why you didn’t back Zach, but should have
“This isn’t going to define me or my career, at least I hope it doesn’t. It’s not my legacy. Granted, as a professional athlete and as a golfer I’m going to relish this. I’m going to savor this. I’m humbled by this. But my legacy should be my kids, my family, that kind of thing.”
Fellow Titleist brand ambassador Jordan Spieth, also using the new Pro V1x, was seeking his third consecutive Major title, but finished one shot outside the pla-yoff in a two-way share for fourth place.
Seven of the players who finished among the top 10 and ties relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success, including Spieth’s fellow brand ambassadors Brooks Koepka and Adam Scott, who both trusted the new Pro V1x to finish in a tie for 10th place.
As well as being the choice of the top finishers at St Andrews, Titleist golf balls also continue to lead the way as the number one choice at The Open Championship since records began, with 91 players choosing to tee it up with a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, over four times the nearest competitor with 21.
