What’s in Martin Kaymer’s bag?
TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour staff Professional Martin Kaymer used a 9.5 degree SLDR as part of his arsenal to clinch victory at The Players Championship.
The German also had TaylorMade Tour Preferred Irons MC in his bag as he recorded a one-shot victory over Jim Furyk at TPC Sawgrass.
Following a course-record tying 63 in the opening round, Kaymer played his most complete golf of the 2014 PGA Tour season throughout the rest of the weekend.
The 29-year-old played his SLDR Driver set to 9.5 degrees to hit long drives off the tee and capitalised on brilliant play around the greens, including a critical par saving putt on the 71st hole.
Kaymer’s win is also the first for adidas Golf’s soon-to-be-launched gripmore footwear.
The gripmore line features an innovation in cleat design that combines the performance benefits of spiked and spikeless footwear into one revolutionary technology.
The win is Kaymer’s third career victory on the PGA Tour.
He earned 600 FedExCup points and is projected to jump from 114th to 18th in the FedExCup Point standings.
Also with the victory, Kaymer earns a five-year exemption to The Players Championship.
