Brooks Koepka’s victory at the Turkish Airlines Open was another victory for the new Titleist 915 metal woods which went on sale last week.
The American relied on his 915 D2 driver to launch some huge tee shots at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal, in Belek, notably on the 13th in the final round where he made a crucial eagle.
Koepka admitted his best shot of the tournament was the 915Hd hybrid he hit to the 13th green on Sunday which set up the three and age him a shot-shot cushion over Ian Poulter down the stretch.
Second placed Poulter also had the new Titleist 915 metals in the bag as he played just his second tournament since making the switch from Cobra Puma.
“I feel like I’ve been playing really well. I’ve been knocking on the door, and these last maybe two, three months, I’ve been very close over here and in the States. I felt like I should have won a couple. But I’ve been knocking on the door and I’ve learned something every time.
“To look where I was a year and a half ago on The Challenge Tour and now to be a winner on The European Tour is incredible, especially winning four times there and winning out here, it’s very special. So I’m excited. I’m excited to get to next week and hopefully carry my form over.
