We’d rather be playing… Ribagolfe I, Portugal
Ribagolfe I is one of seven excellent courses in the Orizonte Golf portfolio. All are within touching distance of Lisbon in the Costa Azul region.
The Course
The most high-profile course in the Orizonte portfolio is at Quinta do Peru, but we prefer the serenity of the two courses at Ribagolfe. 40-minutes from Lisbon, Ribagolfe I, the “Valderrama of Portugal”, winds through ancient cork oak forest and each hole is sheltered from the view of others. Measuring 5,200 metres from the red tees, narrow landing areas demand precision while superb oversized greens prove more forgiving.
The Accommodation
Stay at Villas Aroeira in the Aroeira estate 25km south of Lisbon, home to two 18-hole championship courses also in the Orizonte portfolio. Make this your base and play all seven courses in a week.
The green fee is €90 but you can play from as little as €48 through the Orizonte Golf Passport offer.
