Tickets for the 2015 Walker Cup at Royal Lytham & St Annes are now on sale.
The 45th edition of the competition, which sees leading amateurs from Great Britain and Ireland take on the USA, will be held on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September.
The Great Britain and Ireland team will be looking to win back the trophy after the USA’s convincing victory at the National Golf Links of America in Southampton, New York in 2013.

On each day of competition there will be four morning foursome matches followed by afternoon singles matches. On Saturday there will be eight singles matches, and on Sunday all ten players from each side will feature in the afternoon.
Many of golf’s greatest players have competed in the Walker Cup over the years" Notable players that have competed in the Walker Cup include 2015 Masters Champion Jordan Spieth and world number one Rory McIlroy, who played in the 2007 match at Royal County Down. Other past players include Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Justin Rose and Padraig Harrington.
“Many of golf’s greatest players have competed in the Walker Cup over the years and it is one of the sport’s most captivating events,” said executive director of championships at the R&A, Johnnie Cole-Hamilton.
“We can expect a wonderful display of golf this year at Royal Lytham where the leading amateurs of America and Great Britain and Ireland will compete to win the prestigious Walker Cup Trophy.”
Royal Lytham has a strong association with amateur golf, welcoming leading amateurs each year for the Lytham Trophy. The venue has also hosted The Open on ten occasions, most recently when Ernie Els lifted the Claret Jug in 2012, and staged the Ryder Cup in 1961 and 1977.
