Who is leading the way in Brookline?
 

Despite missing Tiger Woods, the 2022 US Open has a seriously strong field. Rory McIlroy is trying to get out of his major flunk, and it could be a historic week if Phil Mickelson manages to secure the career Grand Slam.

US Open leaderboard 2022: Day 4

The final round of the 2022 US Open was a spectacular battle between Scheffler, Zalatoris and Fitzpatrick.

Four birdies in his opening six holes made Scottie an early favourite, but back nine mistakes would soon follow.

Hideki Matsuyama stayed under the radar all week, but burst into the action on day 4 shooting the low round of the week and setting the club house target.

Much has been said of Matt Fitzpatrick’s putting in recent weeks but his ball striking was sublime on Sunday. He his 17 greens en route to a closing 68 which was enough for him to get his hands on the US Open trophy.

US Open leaderboard 2022: Day 3

What is it with Will Zalatoris and Majors? Just weeks after battling it out on Sunday for the PGA Championship, he is back threatening the top of the leaderboard again.

The Country Club is familiar ground for Fitzpatrick, after all he won the US Amateur here. His comfort on the course showed on Saturday and he breezed to the top of the leaderboard.

Don’t rule out depending champ Jon Rahm though, three birdies in his last five holes helped him get within one of the lead.

US Open leaderboard 2022: Day 2

Rory showed us he is in fact human, taking three shots out of green side rough on the third. He would go on to bounce back magnificently and get in the clubhouse just one off the lead.

Despite not having his trusty fade stock shot, Morikawa shot 66, the low round of the day, to take a share of the lead at the halfway stage. He is joined by Joel Dahmen who is searching for his first major victory.

The cut fell at +3. Notable players to miss out on the weekend were Shane Lowry, Tony Finau, Victor Hovland and Phil Mickelson.

US Open leaderboard 2022: Day 1

Rory McIlroy was one of many to set the early pace, getting to 3-under par early on Thursday morning. He was joined by a handful of others as the day progressed. Perhaps most notable was Matt Fitzpatrick, who won the US Amateur at The Country Club back in 2013. He would bogey the last though to drop back to -2.

Later in the day Justin Rose picked straight up where he left off last week. He followed last Sunday’s round of 60 with a 68 to get in the clubhouse in a share of seventh.

But it was Adam Hadwin who inched ahead after round one, having five birdies in six holes always helps the scorecard.

Other notable performances came from Open Champion Collin Morikawa who is in the club house at -1 alongside Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris.
