Who has earned the most money at each PGA Tour event?
There has already been almost $13 million awarded to winners on the PGA Tour this season and we are just 11 events into the 53-strong schedule.
Rory McIlroy leads the way in terms of earnings thanks to his win at the WGC-HSBC Champions and you’ll not be surprised to learn that Tiger Woods is top of the career earnings.
One stat that is not often considered though is how much players have earned from specific PGA Tour events.
Now, thanks to Golf Digest, we have a definitive list of the leading earners in each of the current PGA Tour stops, including those all-important majors.
The reason this has been brought to light is after Webb Simpson’s runner-up finish at the RSM Classic, where he was beaten in a play-off by Tyler Duncan.
It was the fourth time Simpson has finished in second place since he last won on tour at the 2018 Players Championship.
But the significance lies in the $719,410 that the American pocketed at Sea Island. That saw him become the highest earner at the RSM Classic which has been on tour for the entirety of the decade.
This isn’t the only event where Simpson has seen success in terms of monetary rewards. He also holds the top spot at the Wyndham Championship which he won in 2011.
There are plenty of household names populating this list but here are also a handful of less well known players who have profited from certain tournaments – Michael Bradley and JJ Henry to name just two.
Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson and Rory McIlroy are the other players who also hold more that one top spot.
Here’s a look at the full list.
