As each month passes, golf moves further and further from its stuffy image of strict dress codes and archaic rules dressed up as “traditions”. (And it’s about time, most would say…)

Head to any golf course in the country and you’ll see people of all ages dressed head-to-toe in Rickie Fowler orange, or sporting something that even John Daly would turn his nose up.

Heavily involved in this shifting of the paradigm is golf footwear. No longer are we traipsing the fairways in wooden clogs with metal spikes, choosing instead for something a little more stylish or – dare we say it? – outlandish.

Take the recent news from Nike that their famous Air Jordan trainers are being given a golf makeover, for example.
