Tiger to make competitive return at Hero World Challenge
The 14-time major champion is set to tee it up for the first time in nine months
Golf’s worst-kept secret is out: Tiger Woods will make his long-awaited return to competitive golf in November at the Hero World Challenge.
Woods, who hosts the charity event, joins an elite 18-man field in the Bahamas where he made a similar return just a year ago.
The 41-year-old was recently given the all clear by his doctor following lower back surgery in April and the announcement comes less than a week after he pleaded guilty to reckless driving last May.
“I am excited,” Woods said. “Albany is the perfect setting and it will be great to join this outstanding field.
“I would like to thank the fans for their unwavering support during my injury.”
Woods joins Daniel Berger in filling the final two spots in the field which begins on November 30.
