Yesterday’s overnight leader Bubba Watson remains the slight favourite to win the 2014 Masters ahead of the final round at Augusta National. Despite shooting a one-over-par 73, Watson remains tied at the top of the leaderboard with 21-year-old rookie Jordan Spieth, and the former champion is priced at around 3/1 with bookmakers this morning.
Despite being one shot off the lead, Matt Kuchar just shades Spieth into the position of second favourite following his stunning four-under-par 68 yesterday, priced between 3/1 and 4/1 this morning.
If you think that Spieth can become the first rookie since Fuzzy Zoeller to win the Masters, then he is also priced at around 4/1 ahead of the final round.
With the leaders at five-under overnight, it would be hard to imagine anybody currently sitting on a score higher than -2 winning the tournament. Beyond the three main leaders, the likes of Lee Westwood (12/1), Rickie Fowler (12/1) and Miguel Angel Jimenez (20/1) have an outside chance and will benefit from earlier tee times this afternoon.
Jimenez’s six-under 66 yesterday was the lowest round of the week, and with the leaders at five-under overnight, it would be hard to imagine anybody currently sitting on a score higher than -2 winning the tournament. That is very much reflected in the odds today, with a sharp jump from Thomas Bjorn (-2, 28/1) to John Senden (-1, 66/1).
