WITB: Ted Potter Jr – Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Ted Potter Jr held off the likes of Phil Mickelson, Jason Day and Dustin Johnson to claim his second PGA Tour win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
And he did it largely using Ping clubs.
There are now four drivers to choose from in the Ping G400 range with the Max adding to the regular, LST and SFT models.
Potter Jr favours the regular G400 but we have seen numerous tour players opting for the the brand new G400 Max driver which offers more stability and forgiveness.

There’s now a fairly even split between the regular G400, the LST and the Max.
The left-hander also uses the G400 3-wood and hybrids before going into the stunning iBlade irons.
The iBlades have also been used on tour by the likes of Tony Finau, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Harris English.
Potter Jr is actually a Cleveland/Srixon player so can be seen with a Srixon bag and cap. He plays the Srixon Z-Star XV golf ball which tour players like Hideki Matsuyama and Graeme McDowell use.
He also plays two Cleveland RTX-3 wedges to go with a Ping Glide 2.0 pitching wedge.
After having lots of success on mini-tours such as the Moonlight and Hooters Tour, Potter Jr claimed he was comfortable under the pressure of the closing holes.
“Definitely it helps to draw back from past experience coming down the stretch,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter what kind of tournament really it is. … I think I know how to control myself and the nerves.”
His caddie John Balmer believes his man has racked up over 60 victories in his career.
“I don’t have enough fingers and toes for that. It’s a lot.”
