SW: Royal North Devon pro steps down
Royal North Devon head pro Iain Parker has stepped down after 10 years, handing over to his deputy, Mike Wilson.
Parker, 53, joined the club in 2004 after a decadent Ferndown in Dorset.
Of his time at Royal North Devon, Parker said: “I’ve enjoyed it, it’s a great club and it was great to be involved.
“We have had successes and hopefully Mike and Ross Daniel will keep that going over the next few years.”
Among the highlights of Parker’s time at Royal North Devon, Parker spoke of his pride at the emergence of Jimmy Mullen as an England international and Open golfer.
Parker won the Devon PGA Order of Merit for the first time this year and added: “To be able to compete at my age with the best young guys in the region is pretty nice.”
