Social spotlight: Walker and the Wanamaker, Beef’s odd request
Celebration of the week: Jimmy Walker steals the show!
We’re used to guys like Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth dominating the golfing social media sphere but Jimmy Walker has stolen their crown over the past few days.
After claiming his maiden Major title at the PGA Championship last Sunday Walker has been celebrating in style, and boy has he let his Instagram followers know about it!
The meeting between the Claret Jug and the Wanamaker Trophy.. “mine is cooler than yours, Henrik!”
Making sure the Wanamaker is safe.. we can’t blame you, Jimmy! The 37-year-old took a well deserved break with his wife Erin in Las Vegas (we’re not jealous at all stuck at work!).
A recurring theme: The Wanamaker Trophy.
Enjoy it, champ!
Odd request of the week: PETA ask Beef… to change his name?!
Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston is slowly becoming a cult hero for golf fans across the world, we are sure he must have received some odd requests from his adoring public but this one might just top the lot.
Take a look at the letter PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) sent him:
“Like many others, we’ve been enthusiastically following your career, and we thought we’d send you a gift of delicious vegan steaks and burgers in the hope that you’ll consider adopting a kinder, healthier vegan lifestyle, which would pave the way for a new nickname: Andrew “Tofu” Johnston.
“Your new nickname would also raise awareness of the urgent need to move towards a cruelty-free lifestyle to offset the worst effects of climate change. According to the United Nations, animal agriculture is “one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global.”
Uhm, yeah.. we’re not sure that’s going to happen. And people on twitter were MAD!
Peta finally going too far how dare they insult Beef like that https://t.co/yvSIiDlK0F

@GolfDigest more beef please ? PETA can go and get stuffed with salad

Beef has apparently politely declined the request, and we aren’t surprise after he penned a sponsorship deal with Arby’s in New York last month!
Andrew ‘Tofu’ Johnston, really?
