The company’s new S430 Tour Pro GPS golf range finder, which retails at £249 as of March 2012, offers functionality never before seen in a GPS golf range finder.
The device allows precision course plotting, super accurate distance readings and the most detailed course graphics ever seen.
The S430 is the first range finder on the market to include a 2D and 3D hole view, green view and a hole fly-over, all displayed on a large 3.5″ full colour, sunlight readable display.
The device comes pre-loaded with over 5500 courses, one of the most comprehensive European golf course databases around.
Arguably the most unique feature is the fly-over, which means you can view the detail of every hole you play, before you play it. This is essential for the best course management strategy.
The Shotsaver device also has lay-up technology, which enables you to calculate the distance to for shots further down the hole. Using a tee peg simply tap the screen on the point where you want to calculate the distance to and the lay-up technology will display it.
At the same time, it will also display the distance from your lay-up position to the front, centre and back of the green, so you know how far your following shot will be as well.
As you walk up the fairway, the screen moves with you, automatically zooming in, providing greater detail as you need it. Because we don’t always play the shot that we would like to and end up in the rough, or even a parallel fairway, Shotsaver’s Tour Pro software automatically rotates the view displayed so that the view on the screen matches the view you are actually facing on the golf course.
The device also gives you the ability to measure how far you hit each club, providing details of the longest and shortest distances you hit each club, plus it will keep a running average.
The S430 has an electronic scorecard that allows you to enter the scores and handicaps of up to four players. Then at the end it automatically calculates your net score and stableford scores.
Any golf course updates are free of charge and there are no subscription fees.
Snooper also offer many other GPS and rangefinder products in their Shotsaver range, and while none are as comprehensive as the S430, they do all offer the same high standards and great value for money.
