A collaboration of clubs has been set up in Clackmannanshire with the intention of promoting the region’s clubs and increase the playing membership.
The Clackmannanshire Golf Forum was established in order to capitalise on the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, which shined a spotlight on central Scotland as a golf destination.
Councillor Donald Balsillie said: “The forum have agreed a reciprocal deal for existing club members to experience and enjoy the other clubs in Clackmannanshire.
‘Clackmannanshire has a lot to offer with our magnificent scenery and turbulent history’ “The forum meets several times per year and are working on more developments to increase opportunities for golf, encourage more visitors and generally sell the uniqueness of Golf in Clackmannanshire. Set in the heart of Scotland, Clackmannanshire has a lot to offer visitors with our magnificent scenery and turbulent history.”
The forum consists of representatives from Alloa, Alva, Braehead, Dollar, Muckhart, Tillicoultry and Tulliallan.
The first piece of activity has been to produce a leaflet which explains the golf opportunities in the region, as well as agreeing a reciprocal deal for members of the area’s clubs.
