Schedule announced for amateur tour
The Mid Amateur Golf Tour has announced the schedule for the 2015 season.
The season begins with a 36-hole event at Littlestone in Kent, most recently used for Open qualifying.
Tour director of golf Jason Morris said: “2014 was another great year for us with more and more people joining the tour and entrant numbers increasing and 2015 promises to be even better with a revised format for the Order of Merit with some great prizes and a grand final.”
‘2015 promises to be even better’ The schedule for 2015 includes 18, 36 and 54 hole events at Royal St Georges, Woodhall Spa, Sunningdale, Liphook, Prestatyn, Sheringham, The Dukes Course St Andrews, among others.
There are also more than £25,000 worth of prizes to be won over the season.
Morris added: “In 2015 players will be able to complete in a year-long series of events at some of the best courses in the UK including 10 of the top 100 in England. Golfers will be trying to qualify for the complimentary finals day where some amazing prizes are up for grabs.”
The Mid Amateur Golf Tour is open to any male golfer aged 35 years or over on the day of play and anyone with an active CONGU handicap can enter to play.
All of the tour events are medal play and individual prize funds for events amount to more than £1,500.
