It was the time of year, at the end of 2023, when the anticipation of new driver launches got everyone on social media in a frenzy.
Generally, the big brands do a good job of keeping their latest and greatest tech under wraps, but they eventually have to show their hands for the 2024 season.
Rory McIlroy turned up at the DP World Tour Championship with a brand new TaylorMade Qi10 LS driver. The LS indicates low spin, which would make sense given Rory’s preference for the lower-spinning Plus model in the Stealth 2 line-up.
Rory upgraded to a new TaylorMade Qi10 LS driver to finish off the 2023 season. He had a TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus 3-wood and a TaylorMade Stealth Plus 5-wood to round out his metal wood collection, but now he plays with two TaylorMade Qi10 fairway woods.
Although he put a Stealth UDI driving iron in play for The Open, he has now taken this out of the bag and plays a TayorMade P760 4-iron before switching into the TaylorMade P730 Rors Proto irons from 5-iron to 9-iron.
He carries four TaylorMade Milled Grind 4 wedges in his bag when previously he had three MG4 wedges and one Titleist MG3 wedge.
He made a big change in the putter department at the last FedEx St.Jude Championship, putting a Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5.5 putter in play but he has now swapped back into his Spider putter. He rounds out his gear with the TaylorMade TP5x golf ball.

Matt Chivers
Now on the wrong side of 25, Matt has been playing golf since the age of 13 and was largely inspired to take up the game by countless family members who played golf during his childhood.
Matt is a member at Royal Cinque Ports in Deal playing off a 5 handicap, just a pitching wedge away from his hometown of Dover where he went to school and grew up. He has previously been a member at Etchinghill and Walmer and Kingsdown in Kent.
Having studied history at the University of Liverpool, Matt went on to pass his NCTJ Exams in Manchester a year later to fulfil his lifelong ambition of becoming a journalist. He picked up work experience along the way at places such as the Racing Post, the Independent, Sportsbeat and the Lancashire Evening Post.
