Rebecca McGinley is the American Golf, UK long drive champion. She is used to facing down able drivers but nothing could have prepared her for coming face-to-face with the Golf Shack Academy’s Anonymous big hitter.

Things started friendly but the atmosphere became immediately frosty (and not just because it was about -5c) as Rebecca took up her position and ripped it 260.7 yards.

It was a valiant effort, but it wasn’t enough to out-hit our masked machine who hit a drive of his own, 297.9 yards.

Rebecca played in ten LETAS tournaments during 2015. Rebecca’s best finish of the season came at the final tournament of the season, the WPGA International Challenge, where Rebecca placed in a tie for 19th after only getting in to the tournament from a late withdrawal. Rebecca made a further two cuts during the season.

Rebecca turned professional in December. Before turning professional Rebecca had a successful amateur career winning the Durham Junior Championships four times. Rebecca was the leading qualifier at the English Northern Ladies Championship in 2014 with a two round total of nine under par, which included a course record 68 (-6). Rebecca holds the 2015 and 2016 UK women’s Long Drive title, and finished 3rd at the 2015 and 2016 World Long Drive Championships.
