Quiz: US Ryder Cup teams that tried – and failed – to win in Europe

The Scoop

Five American Ryder Cup teams made up of 37 different players have attempted to win in Europe since 1993. Can you name them all?

No US Ryder Cup team, as we are sure you’re aware, has won on European soil since 1993. Not that we go on about it. Remember when they tried to claim the Ryder Cup is “dead”. Please.

Since then, five American captains have brought a team over the Atlantic to try and beat Europe in their own back yard – at Valderrama in 1997, The Belfry in 2002, K Club in 2006, Celtic Manor in 2010 and, most recently, Gleneagles in 2014.

All failed. And boy do we like saying that!

But can you name the 37 players who represented the US Ryder Cup team in those five European victories? Take our latest quiz to find out.

To help you out, they are ordered first by most attempts, then by year, then in alphabetical order.
