Prada take the fairway to the runway
ITALIAN fashion giants Prada have released a colourful collection of golf shoes in their spring and summer 2012 menswear collection.
The line can boast calf leather uppers, wingtip perforated detail, lace-up and flap detail, a leather lining and a rubber sole.
Yet all is not what it seems when it comes to these £400-per-pair shoes.
For Prada have not stepped into the world of golf fashion, joining the likes of Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren, but have instead launched their quirky footwear as off-course apparel.
Indeed, the rubber soles found on the shoes would be more suited to playing football on hard ground, than helping maintain balance during an explosive drive or aiding protection of golf’s greens from spike marks.
The shoes come in multiple colour combinations, from plain black to a vivid orange, yellow and blue combination seen above.
It is a far cry from the days where golf was seen as a fashion disaster, with diamond patterned jumpers and dodgy check trousers.
