Good things come in small packages: PowaKaddy upgrade electric and push trolleys for 2021

Sleeker designs and technological advances are the order of the day for PowaKaddy's new electric and push trolleys. Hannah Holden takes a closer look

PowaKaddy always sweat over those small details to make sure their trolleys provide the best accompaniment for your game. This year is no different as they announce numerous upgrades to both their FX7 and CT6 GPS models to make them even better.

PowaKaddy trolleys 2021: Freeway series

Headlined by the PowaKaddy FX7 GPS, the Freeway collection has had a number of upgrades – most notably a brand new 3.5-inch full-colour digital screen that provides distances to the front, middle and back of greens as well as hazards.

If that’s not enough, there are a number of other neat little touches, such as calorie counters and automatic stopping distances.

Next in the line-up is the PowaKaddy FX5, which is aimed at golfers seeking something in a mid-price point and features a 2.8-inch widescreen display, as well as the automatic distance function and a USB charging port.

If it’s an entry-level model you’re after, the PowaKaddy FX3 features a 2.3-inch screen, as well as an anti-tamper dial control and a height adjustable soft handle.

All the 2021 FX models feature a one-click folding system and are designed to fold down 20% smaller than we have seen in previous iterations – and are also available with the option electronic braking system.

That’s not the only thing that’s smaller. The battery size has been reduced by 40% while still maintaining the same capacity.

PowaKaddy trolleys 2021: CT6 GPS

Straight away last season the size of the PowaKaddy CT6 GPS trolley blew me away…

It also fits in the footwell of my car which is equally as impressive.

I loved the compact nature of the CT6 last year but the touchscreen graphics of the FX7 stole the show for me. Now in 2021 these two worlds are colliding as the touchscreen GPS has been added to the CT6 GPS model.

As with the FX7 GPS it comes pre-loaded with 40,000 golf courses worldwide and provides all the distances you need.

Weighing in at just 9.8 kilograms, the CT6 GPS also features the electronic braking system, and anti-tamper dial controls, as well as a ‘Simple-2-Fold’ system that folds to 20% smaller than the previous trolleys.

Personally I think this is a great update as it means you don’t have to pick between having PowaKaddy’s top-of-the-range GPS trolley or their smallest. I can’t wait to get my hands on this for testing!

PowaKaddy trolleys 2021: Push carts

If you’re after a push trolley, PowaKaddy have also added three models to this market for 2021.

Headlining the non-electric range is the brand new PowaKaddy Cube – a lightweight, compact trolley with stylish colourways and a simple folding mechanism.

The Cube is aimed at those wanting a premium push trolley that’s compact.

The three-wheel design features a wide wheelbase for reliable stability even on the most uneven of ground, while the Cube also boasts a sturdy mobile phone storage area, and an ergonomic soft touch handle that is easily adjustable.

Golfers will also be able to choose from a yellow, blue, or red trim.

Next up is the PowaKaddy DLX-Lite FF.

Weighing in at just 5.8kg, the DLX-Lite has been designed with optimal storage in mind. Thanks to an innovative flat fold design, and at only 20cm deep, it can be squeezed into the tightest of spaces.

It is constructed from a lightweight aluminium and designed to tackle all terrains and has a host of features, including a drinks holder, water-resistant mobile phone storage area.

Finally, completing the new range is the versatile PowaKaddy Twinline 5, a stylish and lightweight trolley that is incredibly simple to set up, and folds quickly and compactly.

Every push cart in the PowaKaddy 2021 range features the PowaKaddy Key Lock system, which helps to keep bags secure on the trolley.

Speaking of which…

PowaKaddy trolleys 2021: Golf bags

If you’re treating yourself to a trolley why not get a bag to match? The PowaKaddy bag collection has been updated for 2021 to complement your trolley so you can hit the fairways in style.

The collection features five different models so you can find the option that best suits your requirements. The line-up also features a new black and silver colourway.
