Played by NCG: York Golf Club
Reason for a York Golf Club review
For the past few years, it has been a family tradition to take my Dad to play golf on Father’s Day, and there is no better place to do this than at the fantastic York Golf Club.
Where is York?
York Golf Club is situated in the village of Strensall, just 5 miles from York City Centre.
What to expect?
A great mixture of heathland and parkland in the heart of Strensall Common.
Each hole is tree-lined from tee to green, and is a challenging but fair test of golf with some of the best greens I have ever had the pleasure of playing.
My Best Bit?
I always enjoy the short, yet challenging Par 3s.
However, good/bad I am playing, I always have the belief that I am going to get a hole-in-one, and the Par 3s here would be the perfect place to try and get that prolonged Ace.
When I go back…
I will make sure to play the course conservatively off the tee, and rely on the true greens to score well. Every time I play the course, you have the confidence that you are going to hole every putt as the greens are that good!
