It's time for everyone's favourite event of the year and there looks to be a pretty open competition ahead of us. Our tipster has his best bets for Phoenix
The rowdiest event on the PGA Tour schedule is back as eyes turn to Arizona for the Waste Management Phoenix Open. This looks a particularly open staging of the tournament with a host of players in with a shout of victory. I’ve been digging through the form books and picked out three each-way selections and a top tip for my Phoenix Open betting tips.

Phoenix Open betting tips: Who to back each-way
JB Holmes (100/1 with bet365) may not be the most enjoyable to watch but he’s often a banker for a bit of profit.
At a triple-figure price he’s an attractive prospect this week and will tee it up in some good form. He played alongside Tiger Woods late on Sunday at Torrey Pines last week and finished in a tie for 16th despite a poor final round of 1-over.
He knows this desert layout well having played here several times and he has enjoyed some good weeks here. He’s had two missed cuts offset with two top 10s in his last 10 starts in the Phoenix Open and with a top 30 last year.
He’s not short of talent on the golf course either and could even be a little overpriced in this market. He’s had two top 10s in his last four starts including a tied 9th finish in the Farmers Insurance Open where he closed with a blistering round of 5-under.
In his first appearance here last year he tied for 26th if he can carry his form forward then he will certainly go better this week.
Sebastian Cappelen (250/1) is one for those looking for a real outsider that is in good form.
The Dane has burst onto the PGA Tour scene this year and after a solid start has really impressed over the last two weeks. He recorded his best finish so far at the American Express when tying for 6th and followed that up with a tied 21st at Torrey Pines where he co-led after the first round.
He’s not played this event in the past and ranking 34th in driving distance this year could be a factor as the nature of layout allows big-hitters to really let rip.
That’s the each-way selections sorted, head to the next page for my top tip…
