The PGA Tour moves back to the Cali coast this week for the always popular Pebble Beach Pro-Am – or Pebble Beach No-Am as it will be known this year after the Tour decided that, due to the Covid pandemic, the celebrity competition won’t be taking place.
AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am: The details
Venue: Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Club, California, USA
Dates: February 11-14, 2021
Course stats: Par 72; 6,816 yards (Pebble Beach); Par 72; 7,035 yards (Spyglass Hill)
Course summary: The 156-strong field will play one round at each of Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill on Thursday and Friday with those making the cut playing both weekend rounds at Pebble Beach. The famous Pebble Beach needs no introduction, having hosted multiple major championships over the years. The seaside links is one of the shortest courses on tour, and one of the truest tests of golf management in blustery conditions. The iconic, small, Poa Annua greens require accuracy on approach, with GIR a key measure for success in recent years. In contrast, the tight tree-lined fairways of Spyglass Hill offer some protection from the wind, with slightly larger greens for players to attack. With a very different atmosphere expected at this year’s event, this will almost certainly be an intriguing affair with all eyes on the weather forecast for the weekend.
Purse: $7.8 million
Defending champion: Nick Taylor (-19)
