AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Fantasy Golf picks
The PGA Tour heads back to the West Coast this week for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Remember before the cut on Saturday, all players play one round on Spyglass Hill, Pebble Beach and Monterrey Peninsula Country Club.
The aim of our fantasy game this year is to pick the right players to match the RankBuster. This week’s is set at 239 so who can you fit in your team to beat it? Here are my AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Fantasy Golf picks.
Patrick Reed
Fantasy Rank: 12
Reed struggled at last week’s European Tour event in Saudi Arabia, finishing 56th, however, prior to that he had a pair of top 15s on American soil.
Despite missing the cut at last year’s event the American still boasts a good record, boasting four top 30s in his previous four starts, two of those being top tens.
Scott Piercy
Fantasy Rank: 23
Scott Piercy ticks all the boxes for this event, ranking well for his greens in regulations percentage and he’s one of the leaders on tour for proximity to the hole with his approach shots.
He also comes off the back of a top 20 finish at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and is starting to hit some form over the last few weeks.
Corey Conners
Fantasy Rank: 43
Conners has been incredibly streaky since the start of the 2019 season and he has either missed the cut or finished inside the top 25 with two of those being inside the top three.
He missed the cut here last year but his stats so far in the 2019 season have made him a good match up for this week. Just like Piercy, Conners ranks well on the PGA Tour for his approach shots.
Pat Perez
Fantasy Rank: 45
Pat Perez has struggled in recent weeks so comes into this event as a real sleeper pick should you put him into your team.
However, the 42 year old has enjoyed playing at this event in recent years, recording three top 15 finishes in his last five starts here, two of those being back to back top tens in 2014 and 2015.
Brian Gay
Fantasy Rank: 55
If you’re going to be successful on these courses you need to be a good putter. Gay is one of the leading putters on the PGA Tour in terms of strokes gained on the greens.
He struggled at last week’s Phoenix Open but he had a good week last year, finishing in a tie for eighth.
Jim Furyk
Fantasy Rank: 63
Furyk knows how to pull a performance out of the bag when he wants to and this event has thrown up some surprise winners in the past.
With the wind expected to be below 15mph and all three courses under 7,000 yards, Furyk’s fantastic driving accuracy could help him gain plenty of shots on the field as the rough is starting to take place for June’s US Open.

Why the Pebble Beach Pro-Am is golf’s finest soap opera
Matthew Beedle
Matthew has been playing golf since he was around 13 and took up the game at a local nine-hole municipal course with his friends before joining Pontefract & District Golf Club just over the hedge.
Still a member of Pontefract with a handicap of 3, he currently sits on the board of directors to help with digital and marketing initiatives in order to improve membership and visitor income.
Matthew graduated university with a First Class in Sports Journalism from Leeds Trinity University and has been working in the golf industry since graduating.
NCG’s social media & marketing manager, Matthew’s main job role is to increase website traffic to the National Club Golfer website via our email and social media channels as well as driving entries to grow our NCG Top 100s Tour events amongst other tasks.
Not one to change his equipment too often, Matthew currently plays the TaylorMade M2 driver which has lasted the test of time in his bag. Elsewhere, you’ll find him using the TaylorMade Stealth 2 three-wood with a Ping G425 Crossover 2-iron to aid his long game.
Through his 4-iron to Gap Wedge, Matthew uses the Ping i500 irons accompanied by Ping’s Glide 3.0 56-degree and 60-degree wedges.
Another club that has stood the test of time in his bag is a Nike Method Core MC-3i putter which has had to have the SuperStroke grip changed at least three times. Ball of choice is the Titleist ProV1.
