One-on-one: Stacey Keating

It's time for another NCG and LG one-on-one, this time we speak to LET star Stacey Keating..
 

Stacey Keating is a professional who plays on the LET after she turned pro in 2010.

We spoke to Stacey before the 2016 RICOH British Open at Woburn..

Stacey Keating: A bio

After turning pro in 2010, Stacey went on to win twice on the LET in the 2012 season, recording victories in France and Tenerife.

In 2011, her rookie year on the LET, stacey recorded 5 top 10 finishes with a season-best tie for 5th at the Sanya Ladies Open in China.

She slso tied for 6th at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, tied for 8th at the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open and UNIQA Ladies Golf Open and tied for 10th at the Sicilian Ladies Italian Open.

Keating finished 3rd on the Rolex Rookie of the Year Standings and 45th on the Money List with earnings of 52,704.02 from 21 events.

In 2012, her second year on tour, Stacey had a breakthrough season collecting two titles on her way to finishing 6th on the ISPS Handa Order of Merit.

A week after being disqualified from the Ricoh Women’s British Open at Royal Liverpool due to signing an incorrect scorecard (she had accidentally swapped two numbers around), she earned her first trophy at the Tenerife Open at Golf Las Américas.

She backed up her victory at the next LET tournament two weeks later with a second title at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France at Chantaco Golf Club in Aquitaine.

Her two additional top 10s were a tie for 4th at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open and a tie for 5th at the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters

In 2013, Stacey played in 16 tournaments and added four top-10 finishes to her records including a best-season 3rd at the ISPS Handa New Zealand Women’s Open.

She ended the season ranked 25th on the ISPS Handa Order of Merit and finished number 1 on the Number of Eagles statistics, with a total of 6 eagles.

Last season, Stacey played in 17 LET tournaments. Her best performances came at the BUICK Championship and the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open where she finished T4 and T8, respectively. She finished the season in 17th position in the Order of Merit winning €65,225.77.

To this day, the Australian has played in 110 LET events, and in those she has had 16 top ten finishes with two victories.

Early days

Stacey was introduced to golf at the age of 12 through her grandmother. With the help of her parents she designed and built a 6 hole golf course, including bunkers and a full length driving range.

She went on to win the Club championship at Lismore Golf Club for 5 consecutive years and reduced her handicap quickly to 8.

In 2004, Stacey completed her VCE at Trinity  College in Colac. Aged 18 she moved to Melbourne to pursue her golf and become a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sport in 2008.
