Detectives in Birkenhead are appealing for information about stolen golf goods recovered following raids on a number of address in the Wirral.
Officers served warrants at nine addresses on November 13 and recovered a number of items, including golf clubs and clothing, as well as signed souvenirs from the Open, held at Royal Liverpool this year.
Detective inspector Paul Parry said: “We are keen to talk to anyone who recognises any of these goods to help us identify who the rightful owners are, to assist with our investigations in bringing the offenders to justice.”
The recovered items include clothing and accessories from Galvin Green, Greg Norman, Ping, Nike, FootJoy, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Mizuno, TaylorMade and Adidas.
Golf equipment includes a bag, trolley and clubs.
‘We are keen to identify the rightful owners’ Eight men, aged between 16 and 43 years of age were arrested on suspicion of burglary and have been bailed, pending further investigation.
The early morning raids, as reported by National Club Golfer, were part of Merseyside Police’s three-month long operation that launched in September to tackle burglary.
Several of the warrants were in response to a number of recent thefts at golf shops and courses in the region.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Birkenhead CID on 0151 777 2246 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
