Ping launch new i25 driver

This new multi-material driver is aimed primarily at the better player but still scores very highly on forgiveness

Ping’s new i25 is a multi-material driver that helps reduce spin while increasing launch angle for ideal launch conditions to optimise distance and accuracy.

A titanium body is joined to a variable-thickness titanium face, ensuring maximum energy transfer for generating faster ball speeds.

High-density tungsten sole weights lower the CG to reduce spin for a flatter ball flight and a landing angle that maximises roll out.

Strategic placement of the weights significantly increases the MOI, which means mishits go straighter.

Using Trajectory Tuning technology, standard lofts are adjustable +-1/2º. The lightweight, adjustable hosel maintains the same outer diameter and mass of Ping’s fixed hosels to offer the benefits of adjustability without sacrificing the performance often lost in clubs with bulkier designs.

Ping’s industry-first PWR shaft family offers unique weights and stiffness profiles without altering swingweight. What this means is that you can try shafts of different weights in the same flex, allowing you to find the feel that you are looking for. So if you fit into a stiff shaft, for example, you can try it in 55, 65 and 75g versions according to personal preference.

The driver features what Ping describe as “subtle racing stripes” on the crown that frame the ball at address.

The same width as a golf ball, the stripes offer a visual cue (consciously or sub-consciously) that can lead to multiple benefits,” said the company. “They can help the player aim the club face accurately, align one’s body to the target, and assist in taking the club back on the proper path.”
