New golf balls 2020: Titleist

The Titleist Tour Speed is designed to give you more distance thanks to the new high-speed core formulation and an ionomer casing layer for those extra yards. They deliver more distance by reducing long game spin.

A brand new 346 quadrilateral dipyramid dimple design – try saying that 10 times in a row – delivers a penetrating ball flight adding tight dispersion to the extra distance.

Don’t worry, your short game won’t suffer. The thermoplastic urethane cover was specifically formulated by Titleist R&D chemists to help generate more spin around the greens.

“Our golf ball scientists and engineers have gone to extraordinary lengths in the development of Tour Speed – testing numerous core formulations and aerodynamic patterns, while formulating and analysing hundreds of TPU cover blends – to deliver on that promise,” Michael Mahoney, Titleist’s vice president of golf ball marketing, explains. “We have made every investment necessary in these new technologies, including a significant expansion of our manufacturing facility and process.”

Obviously it’s designed to go further – you’ll never get outdriven again with the added distance from the all new Titleist AVX!

Expect even lower launch and low spin on long game. Then the new larger core and thinner cover will give you softer feel and extra spin around the greens.

It looks like a Titleist golf ball and it feels like a Titleist golf ball, but – wait for it – there’s a brand spanking new alignment aid on the Titlist Tour Soft.

Skim reading the small print, it also has the largest core, which is now even bigger requiring a thinner cover which gives you more spin around the green, and a new dimple design to improve aerodynamics for a more penetrating ball flight. What more can you possibly want from a new golf ball?

  • RRP: £38 per dozen

The Titleist Velocity range has also been upgraded.

The new spherically-tiled 350 octahedral dimple design – how many times did you read that? – produces a higher, more consistent trajectory.

It has a larger, high-speed LSX core for fast velocity and low spin. It is available in three new matte colours – pink, green and orange.

  • RRP: £28 per dozen
