Mauritius Open Fantasy Golf picks
This week the European Tour heads to Four Seasons Golf Club for the Mauritius Open with big names such as Tommy Fleetwood and Patrick Reed taking a week off after playing on the Asia circuit.
The aim of our fantasy game this year is to pick the right players to match the RankBuster. This week’s is set at 90 so who can you fit in your team to beat it? Here are my Mauritius Open Fantasy Golf picks.
Fantasy Rank: 9
The Austrian has been on a fantastic run of form at the end of 2018 with his worst finish since missing the cut at the KLM Open being a T47 finish at the Nedbank Golf Challenge.
During that spell he’s had five finishes inside the top 30, two of those being inside the top 10 and he comes off the back of a T9 finish at last week’s Hong Kong Open.
Jack Singh Brar
Fantasy Golf: 28
Had a good start to life on the European Tour with a T30 finish at the Hong Kong Open but it could have been a lot better had it not been for his closing round of two over par.
The Englishman will be looking to kick on from last week’s result.
Fantasy Rank: 42
Like our betting expert Keel Timmins, I like the look of Zander Lombard heading into this week who is more than capable of playing well in tough conditions.
Fantasy Rank: 44
Hasn’t finished inside the top 30 since the Made in Denmark in September but is capable of finishing high up the leaderboard when his game clicks together.
Also finished T14 here last year so is worth the gamble heading into this week’s event with his high fantasy rank.
Fantasy Rank: 55
Has played the majority of his golf on the Challenge Tour in 2018 but played in some European Tour events and finished well with a T18 finish at the BMW International Open and a T22 at the European Open.
Lima also finished T7 at this event in 2017 and will be looking to finish strong again this year.
Fantasy Rank : 65
Comes into this event as a major sleeper in 2018 as he’s failed to find some serious form. His best run came between the China Open and the BMW PGA Championship where he carded two T20 finishes and a T27.
If he can manage to nail a top 20 spot this week he’ll prove a valuable asset for you team with his high fantasy rank.
