Another win for 2018 Rookie of the Year Shubhankar Sharma (25/1 with bet365) seems to be within sight.
The Indian’s form picked up towards the end of the season with a couple of top-1o finishes in his last five starts and is just looking for his game to come together in the four consecutive rounds.
Last time this event was played here in 2017 he finished 27th so there’s encouragement to suggest he could go well this week.
Romain Langasque (20/1) is an interesting selection who has had success here in the past and comes into this week on the back of some solid performances.
He qualified for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship thanks to good finishes at the two preceding Rolex Series events.
A solo 9th at the Turkish Airlines was the highlight and he followed it up with a tied 30th at the Nedbank Golf Challenge.
He took the first week of the season off and returns to a course where he finished inside the top 3 in 2017.
Johannes Veerman (55/1) is a Challenge Tour graduate who recently earned his card and made his first start since the Challenge Tour finale at Leopard Creek last week.
He continued his impressive form from the second-tier tour at the Alfred Dunhill Championship where he tied for 7th.
The American is handsomely priced and represents good value for each-way and outright backers. He played in this event here two years ago and finished inside the top 50.
The Sunshine Tour’s Oliver Bekker (55/1) makes up my selections thanks to his course records in recent years.
He played here in 2017 and 2015 and finished inside the top 10 on both occasions and having made the cut at the Dunhill last week, he could be a good each-way selection.
