Through three rounds of the Sony Open in Hawaii last week, PGA Tour pro Matt Every had totalled just 82 putts and – pardon the pun! – put himself into a share of the 54-hole lead with Jeff Maggert.
His weapon of choice raised more than a few eyebrows, though – it resembled a shoebox on a stick.
I’ve done a bit of research and the putter is called a Black Hawk and manufactured by an independent clubmaker called David Kargetta, operating under the name Orion.
Apparently there is a chance the putter will become readily available later in the year, but currently only a few select pro shops in Florida stock the club.
It’s a long way to travel, but if you’re struggling on the greens it might be worth the investment.
I’ve just booked my ticket…
