Masters prize money: How much each player earns at Augusta
The purse at the iconic major has increased significantly in recent years
Here is the Masters prize money in 2024 and the prize purses from years gone by at Augusta National Golf Club.
The Masters prize money: 2024
Not only did Jon Rahm take home the Green Jacket in 2023, but the Masters champion also banked the lion’s share of the largest prize purse ever put up by Augusta National.
The 2023 Masters prize money, which was announced during the rain delay in the third round, was $3 million up from the previous year, from $15 million to $18 million, while the winner pocketed more than half a million more.
Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka, who led after each of the first three rounds at Augusta, shared second, but had they finished runner-up on their own they would have earned almost $2 million – more than champions Jordan Spieth and Danny Willett earned in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
The total prize purse for the 2024 Masters has been increased once more, and it now sits at $20,000,000 – the same as the Signature Events on the PGA Tour.
Scottie Scheffler was at his brilliant best once again in 2024. He kept the field at arm’s length and won the Masters by four shots from Ludvig Aberg.
